Your adventure begins in Marrakech, where you’ll head through the High Atlas Mountains and cross the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. The road winds past Berber villages and dramatic landscapes, making every turn a photo opportunity.
Next, you’ll reach Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar famous for its earthen architecture and movie-worthy views. After strolling through its narrow alleys, continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Desert.”
From there, drive through Agdez and enter the lush Draa Valley, where endless palm groves stretch as far as the eye can see. By evening, you’ll arrive in Zagora — a peaceful desert town where the Sahara begins to unfold before you
After breakfast, the day opens with a visit to Tamegroute, home to an ancient Quranic library and traditional pottery workshops. You’ll see artisans shaping clay just as their ancestors did.
Then, pass through Tagounite and continue toward Mhamid El Ghizlane, where paved roads end, and the true desert adventure begins. Along the way, you’ll stop to meet nomads, share tea in their tents, and learn about life in the Sahara.
By afternoon, you’ll reach the sacred oasis before riding camels across the rolling dunes. As the sun sets, the colors of the sand shift from gold to deep orange — a moment you’ll never forget. Next, stop in Taznakht, a town known as the “carpet capital” of Morocco, where you’ll see beautiful handwoven Berber rugs in every color and pattern. The road then leads you back to Marrakech, passing through breathtaking mountain and desert scenery.
