Your day starts with a friendly pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. As the city slowly fades behind, you'll feel the excitement build. It's not long before the scenery changes—say hello to open plains and rolling hills.
First up is the Agafay Desert, known for its moon-like landscape. It’s rocky—not sandy—but every bit as beautiful. Here, you’ll have the chance to hop on a camel ride for a few photos and fun!
Don’t forget your camera—the views here are stunning and perfect for sunrise or morning light.
Next, we stop at the calm Lalla Takerkouste Lake, nestled at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Take a moment to relax by the water or stretch your legs. It’s quiet, peaceful, and feels like a hidden gem.
As we head uphill, we’ll pass through Kik Plateau. This wide, open area offers sweeping views of snow-capped peaks in the distance and green valleys below. It’s one of the best photo stops of the trip—and you’ll quickly see why.
We then arrive at a local Berber village, where a family welcomes you into their home. You’ll sip fresh mint tea, dip warm bread in olive oil, and hear about life in the mountains. It’s not just a meal—it’s a heartwarming cultural exchange.
Bonus: If it’s Saturday, we’ll also visit a Berber market. It’s colorful, bustling, and full of handmade treasures.
Your next stop is Imlil, the base village for exploring Toubkal National Park. From here, we take a light hike past terraced farms and flowing streams. Our trail leads to a beautiful set of waterfalls, perfect for a quick rest and some cool photos.
If you prefer not to hike, don’t worry! There are plenty of charming cafés to relax in while enjoying the view.
After the hike, we’ll head to another local home for a traditional Berber lunch. Think tagine, couscous, fresh veggies, and mountain herbs—all served with panoramic views of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa.
As the sun begins to dip behind the mountains, we’ll make our way back to Marrakech. Tired but happy, you’ll return with beautiful photos, warm memories, and maybe even a few new friends.
