Distance: 470 km | Driving Time: 7 hours
Your adventure kicks off with a pick-up from your hotel in Fes. As we hit the road, we cruise through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, making stops along the way.
First stop? The alpine town of Ifrane, known for its European-style architecture. You might even spot the stone lion statue guarding the city.
Next, we visit Azrou’s cedar forest, home to playful Barbary macaques. A quick snack for them (or you!) and then off we go again.
We continue through Midelt and follow the winding roads down into the Ziz Valley — Morocco’s second-longest river oasis. It’s a great spot to stretch your legs and snap some photos.
By late afternoon, we reach Merzouga, your gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Settle in at a local hotel, enjoy dinner, and rest up — the desert magic starts tomorrow!
Distance: 50 km | Driving Time: 3 hours
After breakfast, we begin a full 4x4 tour around Merzouga to discover hidden gems beyond the dunes. First, we’ll explore an oasis and learn about traditional farming.
Then, we drive to Khamlia village, where you'll experience the rhythmic energy of Gnawa music, brought to Morocco by former sub-Saharan slaves.
Next, we visit M’ifis mines and then meet a real Berber nomad family in the desert. Sharing tea with them is one of those authentic moments you’ll never forget.
Later in the afternoon, it’s camel time! Your camel trek across Erg Chebbi dunes leads to a Berber camp. Along the way, enjoy the stunning sunset, and maybe even try sandboarding for a bit of fun!
Once at the camp, you’ll be welcomed with tea and a warm meal. After dinner, enjoy Berber drumming under the stars, then fall asleep in your private desert tent.
Distance: 270 km | Driving Time: 4 hours
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the Sahara — trust us, it’s worth it!
After breakfast and a quick shower, we leave Merzouga and visit the Rissani market (if it’s a market day). Then, drive through small towns like Tinjdad and Tinghir, surrounded by lush palm groves.
We arrive at Todra Gorge, a favorite among rock climbers, where towering canyon walls rise up dramatically on both sides. Take some time to walk and soak in the views.
In the afternoon, we head to the peaceful Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a local riad or guesthouse. Enjoy dinner while the sun sets behind the rose-colored hills.
Distance: 330 km | Driving Time: 7 hours
After breakfast, we start our final leg of the tour. First, pass through Kalaat M'Gouna and Skoura, known for rose products and palm groves.
Then, arrive in Ouarzazate — Morocco’s cinematic hub. You’ll have the option to visit the famous Atlas Film Studios or explore Kasbah Taourirt.
Our next stop is the breathtaking Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic kasbahs. You’ve probably seen it in movies like Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones.
After lunch, we cross the mighty High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2,260m), taking in sweeping mountain views and Berber villages.
By evening, we arrive in vibrant Marrakech, where your 4-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour ends with memories that will last a lifetime.
