Your desert tour from Marrakech kicks off bright and early as we cross the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Next, we’ll stop at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and ancient ksar that looks like it leapt from a movie set (and it has!). You’ll have time to explore its clay-walled alleys and climb to the top for panoramic views.
After that, we head to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa, before continuing south toward Agdz, a peaceful Berber town nestled at the gateway of the Draa Valley. This lush palm-lined corridor winds its way deep into the desert, offering dramatic landscapes and centuries-old kasbahs. We'll end the day in Agdz, where you can relax and soak in the desert calm.
After breakfast, we journey deeper into the Sahara. Our first stop is Tamegroute, a hidden gem known for its ancient Koranic library and traditional pottery workshops—a fascinating peek into local culture.
We’ll then pass through Tagounite before reaching Mhamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the open desert begins. Here, the paved roads vanish, and the real adventure begins! You’ll meet nomads for tea and stories before heading off-road in a 4x4 toward the majestic Erg Chigaga dunes.
By late afternoon, arrive at your luxury or standard Sahara camp, your home for the night. After a camel ride at sunset, enjoy dinner by the fire with live Berber music under a sky bursting with stars. Tonight, you’ll sleep in a private tent surrounded by silence, sand, and starlight.
Wake up early for a magical sunrise over the dunes, followed by a hearty breakfast. Today is all about discovering the hidden wonders of the Sahara. We’ll take you on an off-road excursion to explore a remote nature reserve, where you might spot ostriches, gazelles, and other desert wildlife—an unexpected treat!
Next, we head to the Sacred Oasis, a serene palm-lined hideaway in the middle of nowhere, where you’ll enjoy a peaceful picnic lunch. Back at camp in the afternoon, you’ll have options: go quad biking over the dunes, hike to the highest dune in Morocco, or simply relax and soak in the vast beauty of the desert.
Later, gather around the fire for another magical evening of storytelling, music, and connection under the stars.
After your final desert breakfast, we’ll drive through the dry salt flats of Lake Iriqui, a surreal and cinematic landscape. The journey continues toward Foum Zguid, the first town back on paved roads, then onward to Taznakht, famous for its handcrafted Berber carpets and textiles.
As we wind our way back to Marrakech, you’ll have time to reflect on the landscapes, people, and peaceful moments that made this desert tour unforgettable. Expect to arrive in the city by early evening—tired, perhaps, but filled with memories and a heart full of sand and stars.
