Your adventure begins with an early departure from Marrakech as we cross the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. The road is breathtaking, with snow-dusted peaks, lush valleys, and traditional Berber villages that feel untouched by time.
Next, we’ll arrive at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage kasbah that once welcomed caravans crossing the Sahara. Walking its ancient alleys feels like stepping into a movie — no wonder so many films, from Gladiator to Game of Thrones, were shot here.
After that, we continue toward Ouarzazate, Morocco’s “Hollywood,” where impressive film studios and the historic Kasbah Amridil showcase the region’s cinematic and cultural heritage. Then, we’ll pass through Skoura Oasis and the fragrant Valley of Roses, before reaching the dramatic landscapes of the Dades Valley, known for its striking rock formations and winding roads.
Overnight in the Dades Valley.
After breakfast, the road leads us deeper into Morocco’s natural wonders. We’ll first stop in Tinghir, a picturesque town surrounded by palm groves and ancient mud-brick villages.
Then, it’s on to the awe-inspiring Todra Gorge, where towering cliffs rise nearly 300 meters high. You’ll have time to wander along the riverbed, take photos, and maybe share tea with locals before we continue our journey.
By late afternoon, the scenery shifts as we approach Merzouga and the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, a camel ride awaits, carrying you across the sands as the sun paints the horizon in fiery shades of orange and gold.
Dinner is served under the stars at a traditional Berber desert camp, followed by music around the fire. Sleep in your tent — or, if you prefer, beneath the magical Saharan night sky.
Overnight in Merzouga desert camp.
Wake up early today to catch the sunrise over the dunes — a memory that will stay with you forever. After breakfast, we leave the desert behind and travel through the scenic Ziz Valley, with its palm groves and rugged gorges.
Next, we drive past Midelt, a town surrounded by mountains, before reaching the cedar forests of Azrou, home to the playful Barbary macaque monkeys. This is a great stop for photos and fresh air.
Before arriving in Fes, we’ll pause in Ifrane, a surprising little town known as “the Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style houses and ski slopes. By late afternoon, we’ll reach Fes, where your 3-day desert adventure comes to an end.
